It arrived in Japan through the 2010s alongside K-pop and Korean drama. Clothes from Dongdaemun and Korean online stores began shipping directly, and the look started being referenced on social media rather than through magazines — which is what let it settle as a style.
It reached Japanese teens and twenty-somethings through Korean online shops and social media, and remains the single most influential foreign trend there.
Mid-tones — beige, ivory, brown — roomy silhouettes, surfaces stripped of ornament. Limiting the palette is what lets fabric and line do the talking.
¥2,000–12,000. Korean-style shops turn over fast and similar cuts appear across many sellers, which makes this a category where comparing prices genuinely pays.
